It’s already been a busy week in Hope&Glory PR … here we are talking 3D printing

We wanted to come up with a way of showing off the amazing power of Blurb’s all-new magazine print-on-demand service – the first time that anyone has managed to create a POD magazine (as far as we know).

So we thought that it’d make sense to partner with an online outlet and work with them to create a magazine made up of wholly original content.

We’ve therefore been working with our friends at world-leading Dezeen – because we wanted a partnership with a title that has broad appeal alongside reach into the design community, which is most likely to embrace the product.

Working with the Dezeen editorial team, we created a whole new magazine which focused on the best affordable 3d printers and emerging technologies involved in 3D printing – called Print Shift. Appropriate really, given that we were in the process of making a hard copy magazine based on the content of a hitherto solely digital media owner.

Over the course of a month or so, we worked with them to compile a series of features on the world of 3D print based on interviews with leaders in the field from across Europe. We then worked with the Dezeen design team to create the magazine itself – and utterly spanking it looks too.

We then launched the new mag with a Blurb-hosted round table event to which we invited many of the magazine’s contributors. We had a cracking media turnout for the event – with Peter Day of the BBC Business Unit, Dougal Shaw of BBC Tech News, Stuff Magazine, Kat from Gizmodo, TechWeekEurope, Print Week and a host of others all coming down and in the process of writing features on the new magazine.

A profoundly successful piece of work from the whole team, with Valerie the particular star of the show having lived and breathed this campaign over the course of the last couple of months.
