Seeing football in 4K has seen us re-visit the concept of Sony “microtising” … this time with a pan-European twist to the coverage …

Given that it’s telly season across the nation – with thousands of people set to upgrade their sets for the festive season of telly watching – we thought that we’d best get our skates on and follow-up our triumph with Sony’s ice bubbles with a follow-up campaign to continue the 4K Ultra-High Definition story in the media.

So it was that we found ourselves hanging out with the legend that is Olivier Giroud.

The Arsenal man, out of action while recovering from injury, was just about the perfect choice – made thanks to some top class sports PR skills in the H&G team – as he was about to make his comeback as the campaign needed to go live, but was resting at the time we prepped it all. Timing doesn’t get better really.

A set of belting interviews have seen us land stand-out coverage with a five page feature in the Evening Standard ES Magazine (reproduced online), the Daily Telegraph, Daily Mail, Daily Star, Irish Independent. And that’s just for now – we’ve a cracking interview with Four Four Two and SPORT Magazine to come out … and more media opportunities than we know what to do with in the bag.

And then there’s the fact that this one will also be rolled out Europe-wide, with all of Sony’s markets across the continent getting involved with the campaign and poised to hit their respective media with it.

Here’s a wee film-ette we made to illustrate the whole thing (in 4K, as you might expect!) …
