Want to live your best Upstairs life?
Last week the Airbnb team announced that, for the very first time, Highclere Castle (home of Downton Abbey) is opening its doors to two lucky guests this November.
Superfans booking through the site will be offered a once-in-a-lifetime chance to “live like a Lord (or Lady)” with the Earl and Countess of Carnarvon in this iconic British location.
In true royal style, guests will enjoy an exclusive evening of cocktails in the Saloon, followed by a traditional dinner in the State Dining Room. All as long as the newspapers remain ironed and they adhere to the “one butler per person” rule.
It was all part of our on-going campaign to make Airbnb the best place to go to find the most remarkable places to stay and follows hot on the heels of announcements that you can stay in The Louvre, the Spice Bus and a host of other iconic locations.
As you might expect, our story took the media by storm, resulting in widespread coverage across major national, consumer, regional, and broadcast titles.
There were pieces in The Times, The Guardian, Daily Telegraph, Daily Mail, a full page in the Daily Express and Independent, as well as some top tier consumer lifestyle titles including STYLIST, Cosmopolitan, Red, and Marie Claire.
All-in-all, over 290 pieces and counting and the coverage just keeps rolling in!
