Tasked with getting Prezzo talked about and reaching news ways we piggybacked off the Summer’s most talked about reality show, Love Island – made all the better when Italian born Davide went on to eventually win the series back in August (it’s almost as though we predicted it …).
Naturally, we were inspired by one of this year’s most iconic Love Island moments which saw Davide surprise Ekin Su with his homemade Italian tiramisu and make their relationship official.
Keen to stick to his Italian roots when returning to the UK, we got Davide to don his chef’s whites and personally serve the iconic dish (which features on Prezzo’s new autumn menu) to diners at Prezzo restaurants across the UK who wanted to make their own relationships “official”.
We first announced the local Davi-date Night events in Leeds and London, alongside arranging exclusive interviews for Davide with top tier media, securing stand-out pieces in the Daily Mail and The Sun (amongst many others). What’s more, the bags of coverage saw every article pointing to the events and details of Prezzo’s new menu. Davide also shared the news to his 2 million Instagram followers, all of which led to both events selling out within 24 hours.
The fun didn’t stop there either.
On the night, Davide was busy taking selfies with guests (the odd BeReal too) and of course, personally serving couples his iconic tiramisu to those looking to take their relationship to the next level. Guests were also encouraged to tag @love_prezzo and use the #PrezoDaviDate, driving organic posts from the night across Instagram and TikTok – with social posts re-posted by Davide and his fans.
The whole campaign was topped-off with Davide and Ekin Su decided to take the next step and move in together. How did he ask her whether she would do so? With a Prezzo Tiramisu of course …
