Last week, we headed to Speyside – the home of The Macallan – to mark the debut opening of the new Cirque du Soleil SPIRIT production, created specially to commemorate The Macallan’s 200-year anniversary.
From performers suspending overhead on a tightwire, to aerialists, hair suspension artists and a contortionist, Cirque du Soleil SPIRIT serves as a love letter to the sublime landscapes of the Scottish Highlands. And more importantly, the need to reconnect with nature and why weare each responsible for protecting the natural landscapes that surrounds us.
Across the week, local press across Scotland’s most-read newspapers were welcomed to The Macallan Estate for a behind-the-scenes look at the production, followed by a preview of the performance in the evening.
The week also saw us welcome and host media from around the globe to Speyside for the global premier. Flying in from the UK, the States, Italy and Germany to name a few, making the trip worth it was a bespoke 5-course dinner, brand immersion experiences within the Distillery and tastings before getting lost in the story that is Cirque du Soleil SPIRIT.
However, the spectacle itself has been the coverage that’s rolled in, with the team landing The Times’ Picture of The Day, The Scotsman, half page in The Times Scotland, Country and Townhouse, Yahoo! UK, The Herald, Sheerluxe, The Northern Scot, Luxury Daily, Press & Journal, The Luxe Review and many more…
It’s been thirsty work indeed, with even more to come so, stay tuned this year as H&G continues to support The Macallan in celebrating the brand’s 200th anniversary.
