As much as we love a spot of humour and levity in Hope&Glory, we’re also big fans of more serious work that has a point to make and does so elegantly.
That was certainly the case in this campaign by Transport for Greater Manchester which caught our eye over the course of the last month or so.
The organisation is calling for drivers to be more vigilant with a moving city centre installation and accompanying film that raises awareness of the 25 pedestrians killed on Greater Manchester roads last year.
Located in central Manchester, the installation highlights 25 pairs of shoes, each representing a pedestrian and their last steps.
It’s part of Transport for Greater Manchester and the Safer Roads Partnership’s “Last Steps” campaign, running across out-of-home advertising, radio, digital and social media.
Designed to leave a lasting impact on drivers and provoke an instant emotive reaction, the campaign showed that the number of pedestrians killed isn’t just a statistic it’s several lives taken away from friends and family.
