With IKEA, we dedicate ourselves to helping people get the best night’s sleep possible.
And as Valentine’s Day loomed on the horizon, we saw the perfect opportunity to play matchmaker.
We found that 8 million Brits have split up with a partner because of bad bed etiquette – showing just how important matching bedroom preferences are in relationships.
Recognising this, we partnered with up and coming dating app, Breeze, to offer those looking for love the chance to meet ‘the one’ over meatballs in bed at an IKEA store on Valentine’s Day.
Breeze’s expert matchmakers personally matched some lucky couples based on their sleep compatibility, looking at individual preferences inspired by IKEA’s Six Sleep Essentials. The chosen couples then enjoyed a once in a lifetime date, enjoying a romantic meatball dinner for two in bed, set up in an IKEA roomset, to discover if they were compatible in the bedroom, and in life.
Media fell in love with the idea of a romantic date in IKEA, with over 170 pieces of coverage in the likes of Daily Star, Trend Hunter, Time Out and Secret London.
And most importantly, we gave people across the UK a truly unique first date they will never forget.
