Airbnb is trying to encourage people to visit the lesser-travelled Scottish Lowlands, so we teamed up with Annandale Distillery to offer the chance to become a distiller for the day, and we think this just might be the best dram job in the world!
As travel reopens and staycations remain high in demand, weโve been working with Aribnb to promote tourism in the Scottish Lowlands, encouraging tourists toย explore a region that is often overlooked, yet offers incredible stays and experiences!
As part of this we teamed up with Annandale Distillery to offer the public the chance to to become a distiller for the day in a unique, immersive and exclusive two-night stay, with guests taking part in every step of the distilling process, staying in the distillery cottages and even ending the night with a dinner at the Globe Inn (made famous by a certain Mr Robert Burns) and a whisky tasting!ย
We announced the listing on Airbnb to the media and achieved widespread coverage across national, consumer, regional and trade titles, such as the Daily Mirror, Metro, Time Out, Daily Record, The Scotsman, Dumfries and Galloway Standard, as well as securing a first-hand account piece from Rosalind Erskine, writer for The Scotsman, who loved the idea so much she went to stay at the distillery herself.ย
So if youโre looking for your summer staycation this year, look no further than the Scottish Lowlands.
