While fretting about getting into the office this week, we spotted a great opportunity for hijacking the news agenda for the lovely people at Novotel.
Using footage from a deckchair camera we knew was placed on the floor 39 of Novotel London Canary Wharf, we issued a time-lapse video to the national press, compressing 24 hours of London being blanketed by snow into just 27 seconds.
The footage was incredible, showing the South Bank, The Gherkin and the Shard being battered by the Beast from the East.
Selling in on a snowy morning of utter transport chaos, the media went snow-tally crazy for it.
The team hit the phones at 9am, and by 10am there was blanket coverage for Novotelโs flagship hotel.
Big beasts such as the Daily Mail (three times), Daily Mirror (twice), Daily Telegraph, The Sun (three times), Daily Express (twice), Evening Standard (three times), Time Out, Independent and The Guardian (three times) lapped it up, and the clip even featured on The One Show, BBC News at 10, BBC London News and ITV London.
The team had snow much fun!
