It’s been Pawsome to help Sony showcase the new Xperia phone with a series of hilarious dog pawtraits…

With the nation in and out of lockdown, it had been a while since Hope&Glory was able to use work as an excuse to play with dogs. Well, last month we were up to our old tricks as the Sony team worked with a renowned animal photographer to highlight the incredibly useful animal eye tracking feature on their latest Xperia smartphone, the Xperia 1 II.

The Animal Eye AF technology automatically focuses on your pup’s eyes and can shoot at speeds of up to 1/8000th of a second, making it easy to take great portraits even if they’re camera shy or, well, bonkers. And what better way to show this stunning tech of than with some positively (im)perfect portraits!

We spent the day with photographer Liz Greggs capturing the beaming faces of playful pooches on the Xperia 1 II, creating a new portrait series alongside British rehoming charity All Dogs Matter – who’ve recorded a surge of interest in adopting pooches during lockdown.

After curating a collection of delightful shots alongside some top tips for becoming a ‘pupparazo’ (because it would be rude to keep the magic to ourselves), the team secured coverage on The Mail OnlineThe Mirror Evening Standard and Female First amongst many others, as well as countless Instagram re-posts. A fetching end to a pawfect day out…
