It’s been the mother of all launch weeks for the O2 team … and we’ve been cleaning up in the media

As some may know we’re rather fond of a big campaign for our clients at O2. Things like Thumbells and Walkie Talkies and working with Nile Rodgers.

Less famous is the proactive press office we run for them, milking every last drop of potential to keep them front-and-centre with the right media and helping position them as the home of the latest and greatest kit.

Last week was no exception.

First up we bagged over twenty pieces of coverage for the launch of the Google Nexus 6 and Nexus 9. Read any of the pieces on and you’ll find O2 there – even before we’ve announced release dates or pricing with coverage in the likes of Tech Radar, Trusted Reviews, CNET, V3, Techview, Know Your Mobile, Mobile News, Gadget Show, Gizmodo and Yahoo! to name just a few

Then we had the altogether meatier announcement that O2 would be the exclusive retailer of will.i.am‘s forthcoming i.amPULS smart cuff.

With an announcement in San Francisco followed by an appearance at Wired 2014 we had lots of opportunity to land the coverage, securing over 50 pieces of coverage over a broad spread of media including: a decent spread of nationals with the likes of the Independent, Mail Online and City AM.

The online news and broadcasters loved it with coverage on Sky News, LBC and Yahoo!. Naturally, the online tech lot went nuts with Wearable Technologies, Techradar, CNET, Trusted Reviews, Expert Reviews, V3, Pocket-lint, Wareable, Engadget, Tech Radar, ZDNet, The Next Web, PC World and PC Advisor as a starter for ten. What’s more we bagged a belter with The Guardian with O2 CEO Ronan Dunne.

Finally, Thursday saw Apple’s iPad announcement. So the team was once again pulling a late one to make sure O2 was out there. Pieces followed across national news and tech, including Telegraph Online, CNET, Tech Radar, PC Advisor and Mobile News.

So a busy but productive week for the team. And another in which O2 was at the heart of the biggest tech stories in town.
