The one where we worked with Paddy Power to bring the World Thumb Wrestling Championships to the masses…

When the good people at Paddy Power asked us to find a way to engage their football loving audience during the summer off-season, we thought the logical step to take was Thumb Wrestlingโ€ฆ of course.

First up, we secured the headline sponsorship for the 2019 World Thumb Wrestling Championships, before creating six trailers for Twitter and Facebook, then ultimately live-streaming the event in the gentile Norwich village of Beccles.

Our trailers followed the thumb-tenders during their behind the scenes workouts, WWE style entrance videos and a cuss filled weigh in with Connor McThumber and Mike Thumb-son. Cuticles weโ€™re flying!

Armed with contenders including The Thumbertaker. Thumberlina and Thumbra and Lightening, we hit the broadcast desks which resulted in crackers on Good Morning Britain and BBC Breakfast, which was swiftly followed by Talk Sport, BBC Sussex and BBC Look East on the eve of the championships. ย ย ย ย ย

On last count, our trailers had a combined 200 odd thousand views across platforms, with the live-stream attracting a further twenty thousand views on the day.

METRO, Joe, and BBC Online then attended in person, meaning coverage has been flying in. Most recent hits include Inside Edition, Lad Bible and The Sun among others.

That was fun. Whatโ€™s next Paddy?
