For Uber, we officially opened the doors to “The 55k Tonnes” – Londonโs first carbon-negative pub – in the heart of Westminster.
Since 2021, Uber has saved 55,000 tonnes of carbon from Londonโs atmosphere – thanks to the launch of Uber Green. To make sure we caught the attention of key policy makers and stakeholders in the city, we launched The 55k Tonnes to bring Uberโs sustainability efforts to life.
The pub featured electric bikes, where pub goers could pedal to produce green energy. We had Pavegen technology on display, as a demonstration of how kinetic energy can be generated and used in daily life.
The pub also served carbon neutral lager from Gipsy Hill (at the discounted price of, you guessed it, ยฃ5.50), as well as offering punters with 55% off their next Uber Green ride to encourage them to continue their own sustainable habits.
We landed standout coverage across key titles including METRO, Time Out, Evening Standard, Daily Mail, Square Meal and a spread of trade titles. The campaign also flew on social, with Historic Pub Crawls, Schooner Scorer and Bronte King all paying a visit to the pub and posting on their channels.
What better way to grab attention and get people talking than discounted beer and a cheap ride home?
Cheers!
