We do a tonne of work with all sorts of brands through Argos – creating collaborative campaigns to get products talked about while ensuring that the brand is the go-to retailer for those who are in the market to buy.
So to celebrate the launch of the new LEGO Super Mario range at Argos, we did the only logical thing and built the first Argos LEGO delivery truck.
With the retailer seeing home deliveries rise by 184% and consumer research revealing that Brits now find a delivery to be more exciting than video calls with friends and family, it only felt right to add some extra pizazz to the whole experience
So we set-to and commissioned a pretty remarkable build, making over an Argos van especially for the occasion.
And what an undertaking it was. By the end of the process, the truck itself consisted of over 190,000 pieces of LEGO which took 23 technicians over 800 hours to build. The result really was a sight to behold.
To add some sparkle to the whole affair, we teamed up with Jordan Banjo and Perri Kiely from Britain’s Got Talent-winning dance troupe Diversity to unveil the creation on their social channels, along with a competition to win over £300 worth of the toys.
We landed a cracker with Press Association, Metro and Hello! Magazine just to kick things off. And from there, the news soon stacked up in print and online, as we landed over 120 pieces of top quality coverage, including the likes of Daily Express, Daily Mirror, The Sun and Hello! (again) … of course, amongst many, many others.
It was altogether flipping awesome …
