Beefeater Pikachu? Flying Corviknight Cable Cars?
It can only mean one thing … The Pokémon World Championships, in Europe (at the ExCel, London no less!) for the first time.
The team hit the ground running to launch “Worlds” with two early morning photoshoots, Pikachu took to the Thames by Tower Bridge and Eevee and Pikachu hitched a ride on the London Cable Cars.
Then it was straight into five days of non-stop media relations as we manned interviews, broadcast, previews and pop-up events.
But it didn’t end there.
Day one saw us take more than 70 media and influencers from across the globe on a sunset cruise down the Thames with an exclusive performance from Pokemon mega fan Jax Jones.
That was swiftly followed by a top secret card reveal over a delicious afternoon tea at The Corinthia, where attendees tucked into tea and cakes whilst trading cards.
Finally, Saturday night saw a UNITE themed party at Protein Studios in Shoreditch, where guests got down to some serious gaming and enjoyed a host of prizes.
Coverage has been simply stellar, with 200 plus pieces to date. Highlights include an extensive segment on BBC London News, a four-minute Newsround piece and CBBC. In addition to a sweep of nationals, gaming titles and London listings.
Oh, and if that wasn’t enough, we ran the out of home activations too, delivering over 30 branded cable cars to transport fans to and from the ExCel.
Until next time, Pikachu.
