We’ve been working with SEGA to launch their new World War Two video game, Company of Heroes 3 by offering homing pigeon deliveries (of course)

The SEGA team has been getting down in the trenches to create a unique video game launch, authentic to Company of Heroes 3’s World War Two setting.

We teamed up with comedian and history buff Al Murray to create a courier service that saw a flock of specially trained carrier pigeons deliver the game.

With the help of Birds for Film, the company that has trained animals for major productions such as Harry Potter and The Crown, CoHdy the homing pigeon ensured that the franchise’s biggest fan received the third instalment before anyone else.

Consumer research found 32% of Brits don’t know Sir Winston Churchill was Prime Minister during World War Two, and 37% have no idea when this pivotal period in history actually happened, which caused quite the stir with media.

Over 130 pieces of coverage later, including The Sun, Daily Mirror, Daily Express, Daily Star, Metro and Independent, as well as a heated debate on Jeremy Vine, the launch of Company of Heroes 3 was a great success!

Special delivery anyone?
